It was hardly surprising that Wilfred Amoo-Gottfried’s signature was highly coveted, following success with the Faith Football team which saw him pluck two bronze ISSAG medals, featuring as a regular in the lineup of the football team. One simply cannot forget his game-changing bicycle kick against Alpha Beta which among many other feats, cemented his place as the finest midfielders in this generation of high school footballers.

After his induction into the Ashesi Premier League in the summer of 2015, Wilfred Amoo-Gottfried was snatched up by Elites FC amidst interest from a host of other clubs vying for his signature. An impressive start to the season after a good pre-season win was quickly eclipsed by a challenging array of league games and the season ended with Elites rock bottom, wilfred only having featured once. The following season saw the positives of Wilfred’s transfers to Kasanoma and eventually Highlanders eclipsed by injuries and poor form, and the teams ended bottom of the league in those seasons.

A return to Kasanoma, however, not only saw Wilfred return to his very best but also help fire his team into second place which saw an end to his curse. The midfield powerhouse did his job, distributing passes and dictating the tempo of the game, faultlessly, much to the delight of his supporters.
